Tom McGinnis

om McGinnis is a Deputy Athletics Director at the University of St. Thomas Department of Athletics. He joined Tommie Athletics in 2026 and serves as a member of the department's leadership and management teams. McGinnis serves as the sport administrator for the men's basketball, soccer and golf programs. He currently oversees event management/facility operations/campus recreation, capital projects, ticketing, digital content/production, equipment operations and the Lee and Penny Anderson Arena.

McGinnis was a member of the NCAA Men's Hockey Committee from 2013-19 and served as the chair from 2016-18. He also served on the boards for College Hockey, Inc., Sports Minneapolis, the Minnesota Sports Corporation, the governing body for the Minneapolis Local Organizing Committee for the 2019 Men’s Final Four, and the Executive Board for the 2022 Women's Final Four Local Organizing Committee.

Prior to his position at St. Thomas, McGinnis spent 14 years at both the University of Minnesota and The Ohio State University. He received his bachelor's degree in sport management from Indiana University in 1997 and went on to earn a master's degree from The Ohio State University in 1999.
